It's time for Chris Minns to end barbaric Greyhound Racing in NSW.
Greyhound racing is a cruel and outdated industry that exploits animals for profit. Greyhounds endure harsh training, confinement, extreme distress and horrific injuries. Too often these animals are simply discarded when they are no longer profitable for their owners, facing euthanasia or lives stuck in industrial kennels.
NSW banned greyhound racing in 2016, after an inquiry found evidence of live baiting and half of all greyhounds bred for racing were killed [1]. Despite the ban having public support, the ban was overturned months later, before it was implemented [2]. The industry is in decline but those who profit from it will do everything they can to extract profit until the last greyhound is forced to race.
NSW already banned greyhound racing once but repealed it after caving to pressure from the industry. It's time for the government to put an end to this cruel industry once and for all.
