Stop the dolphin hunt!

The UK government just signed a £5 million fishing deal with the Faroe Islands, where every year entire pods of dolphins — highly intelligent, social animals — get herded into shallow bays and butchered. This brutal practice is not only cruel; it’s a symptom of a broken relationship with nature and an unsustainable food system that can no longer continue unchecked.

It directly contradicts the UK’s own pledges to protect marine life — but we still have a chance to help end it.

The Faroe Islands rely on exports to UK supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl. Those retailers, in turn, rely on us. If we come together to demand these chains suspend sales of fish sourced from the Faroe Islands until the dolphin hunts are halted, we can apply real pressure to a government that’s already feeling the heat.

Change is possible: after 1,400 dolphins were slaughtered in a single day, public outcry forced authorities to introduce limits — and now, 70% of Faroese people oppose the hunts. A strong message from British supermarkets could tip the scales and end this cruelty for good.

But this isn’t just about one hunt. It’s about shifting toward a food future that doesn’t come at the cost of ecosystems and sentient life. Ending the dolphin slaughter must go hand in hand with investment in sustainable, humane alternatives — like cultivated seafood.

We’re fighting for that future. Join us to help stop the hunt — and build a better food system for people, animals, and the planet.
